Minty Matcha
If you’ve ever tried Matcha, it is not an easy drink to drink when it doesn’t have sweetener. I have grown to actually enjoy Matcha with some ginger and cinnamon sprinkled in, but it took over a year of me drinking it with hot milk and honey, and slowly getting used to it, to get me there. But we are no longer using unnecessary sweetener, so when I wanted a warm Matcha, but also wanted a more substantial drink - I came up with this delicious Peppermint Matcha! I love the addition of peppermint because it provides such a strong comforting flavor, it’s great for the stomach, and covers up the earthy green taste of Matcha!
So what else is in here?
Collagen - Great for hair and skin health. I take a lot of collagen when I am dealing with postpartum hair loss.
Peppermint Extract - Peppermint is great for digestion and can help calm an upset stomach.
Coconut Milk - A healthy and filling dose of fat and a little extra sweetness. Feel free to sub for any other milk. Milk’s with lower fat content just won’t have a creamy drink, but will still be delicious.
Flax Seeds - A great source of healthy omega’s. Flax seeds are essential to supplement with, especially if you don’t get several servings of seafood a week. Feel free to omit these if you don’t want the texture in the drink
Kefir - One of my favorite yogurt alternatives. Kefir is loaded with beneficial gut bacteria, and is amazing for keeping your immune system strong. You can definitely sub this for any type of yogurt, or even a banana.
